This year, we will be focusing on a range of topics designed to help SMEs in Sussex thrive.
We invite all Directors and Founders in Sussex to join our peer-to-peer support service. Together, we can share our experiences, learn from each other, and navigate the challenges of 2025 with confidence.
Let’s make 2025 the year of growth, innovation, and success for businesses across Sussex.
Topic for January: Where are the biggest improvements needed in your business? And crucially – What are you going to do about it in 2025?
Topic for February: What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs today based on your own experiences?
Topic for March: Maximising potential on social media – what are the key social trends and how we can leverage them in our respective businesses. Best platforms for our businesses. What do people use most/get most traction with?
Topic for April: Sustainability within our businesses – we may be SMEs but we can still do our bit. I’ve seen a lot of greenwashing going on in the last year. Ways we can all do outlet bit even if we’re just a handful of people, and really mean it, not just pay lip service. Also, do you think it matters to your customers?
Topic for May: How are you leveraging data and analytics to make informed business decisions?
Topic for June: What are your plans for succession planning and ensuring the long-term viability of your company?
Topic for July: How to systemise and streamline your business. Best software/AI tools for doing this. Creating automated email marketing campaigns, sign ups and all that jazz. What’s everyone doing, what do people recommend? How to build a solid email/subscriber list and make the most of its selling potential.
Topic for August: In the business vs on the business (what’s the ratio you work to… try to) What are your key performance indicators (KPIs) for success, and how are you tracking them?
Topic for September: Networking -opportunities for it locally, how to make the most of it, how to approach it and actually talk to people. Strategies for not feeling like a dick in the room when everyone seems to know everyone else. How to connect with people meaningfully and make the most of those connections etc.
Topic for October: Navigating economic uncertainty and rising operational costs. How’s everyone coping with that currently and in the future. Costs have rocketed again with product and service-based businesses and it’s hard to pass it onto customers without losing some of them.
Topic for November: How can we foster a culture of innovation and encourage experimentation within your organisation?
Topic for December: Directors Hub Conference: Venue TBC in Sussex.
